Glasses no more in Passport Pictures

Have you ever experienced any delayed transactions with the US government agencies just because they are getting confused with your face with and without glasses? Well worry no more for they already have a solution.

They disclaimed that they do love your glasses but just remove them before taking your passport photo. Starting on November 1, 2016, customers applying for their U.S. visa or renewing their passport must take off their glasses for the photo.

This policy change is not much of a nuisance for the applicant as during the picture taking, we doubt that they need to clearly see the photographer. However, it will help both the government and the applicant by reducing the number of delayed transactions.

If you really need your glasses though due to medical reasons, you will be needing a signed statement with your U.S. passport or U.S. visa from your health practitioner.

This photo specification change may apply to Diversity Visa Lottery application pictures as well so be informed and be prepared to wear off your glasses for that photo.
